Timothy Cierpke, D.M.A.,
Artistic Director and Conductor
Timothy Cierpke, D.M.A., is a Professor of Music Emeritus (1988-2016) at Trevecca University in Nashville, Tennessee. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dr. Cierpke earned a B.A. in Music degree from Pasadena College, a M.M. degree from Samford University, and a D.M.A. Degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. At Trevecca, Dr. Cierpke directed the Symphony Orchestra, Choral Union, Master Chorale, and Madrigalians in addition to teaching a variety of music classes. Dr. Cierpke, a cellist, has performed in professional orchestras for over fifty years. Dr. Cierpke has four children; Treble, Tenor, Timbre, and Tetra.
Guest Conductors
Dr. Brian Harris, formerly Associate Professor of Music at the University of Texas at San Antonio, recently retired as Professor of Music at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, where he conducted community, collegiate, and public school music ensembles.
He holds the Ph.D. in Music from the Florida State University, the Master of Music from Louisiana State University, and the Bachelor of Music from Samford University. His research and composition activities led to publication with Warner Brothers Music and the release of three volumes of recordings in the Young Band Repertoire Project series.
He and his wife, Sarah, moved to the Nashville area in 2019 just in time for the pandemic. He continues to perfect his recipe for cinnamon rolls.
Allen Tuten has lived in the Nashville area since graduating in 1981 from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree (trumpet). He began arranging and orchestrating music while still in high school in Savannah, Ga., and continued when he was a church orchestra director in college. Allen has arranged and orchestrated a variety of music over the years, and has a number of published arrangements.
Allen has worked as a freelance music engraver for almost 40 years. During that time, he has engraved church choir anthems and musicals, orchestrations, songbooks, (even an opera!), music illustrations, and hymnals for various publishers and churches.
Allen has often performed as a freelance trumpet player, and was principal trumpet in the Trevecca Symphony Orchestra for more than 25 years. Away from his music endeavors, he serves as President of the Central of Georgia Railway Historical Society, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that preserves the history and heritage of the Central of Georgia Railway. Allen lives with his wife Celeste in Pleasant View, Tenn.
